They Liked It!

This past Saturday, I presented my fine cut of the latest Gizdich Ranch Television Commercial at an appointment scheduled at the very ranch in Watsonville. Vince Gizdich himself was a fellow viewer of the commercial. All viewers were unanimously pleased!

Vince Gizdich and Staci Caccioppi in At the Core (2006).

Now, the TV station KSBW is going to be contacted, and we'll see where this takes us in a few weeks!

BTW, the Demo Reel is shown again here because more than 4 News Blog entries exist since the last time it appeared, and I still want it on the front page.

Movin' On Up

In a neck-and-neck YouTube views race of 1,819 to 1,806, Scenes from Being John Malkovich (2006) has officially taken the top spot from Part 1 of The Dog of Pompeii (1999). Yesterday, they shared the top spot, each with 1,804 views.

Ownership of the top spot probably switched last night, but I didn't catch the exact scores the moment it happened.

Media Layer

In a new design for this site's movie pages, I've created a Media Layer to encompass all pictures and videos. It pops up at the click and grays out the remainder of the page, like the Names Database and More Movies layers do already.

By having this layer implemented, most of the media no longer occupies the initial page, where the movie's description and cast/crew list are located. Now, they link from a menu on the left. I also configured a loading spinner... You'll see...

I'm only about 1/4 of the way finished thus far, but along the way, I've [finally] added the preexisting YouTube clips to such movies as Lipstick on a Pig? Actually... and Scenes From Being John Malkovich.

Ollalieberry Bliss

As things have finally returned to normal, following my attendance of a family funeral and my receival of an appendectomy, I've been able to step things up a notch. This past weekend, the fine cut of my television commercial for Gizdich Ranch was completed!

It took awhile to whittle down, but making the best selections for a 28-second piece when you have more than an hour's worth of footage is quite difficult, especially when there are four different segments of the ranch requested to be a part of the commercial. The shots shown here were from '07's Tour of the Juicery.

Now to call up the ranch to announce this, and to [learn where and how to] transfer the finished piece onto Beta SP!

Demo Reel Up!

Now on YouTube (and in moments, this site) is my Directing Demo Reel! It is the first of three that I plan to make -- in sequence, one each for D C V, or Directing, Cinematography and Visual Effects.

Its official site link is directorG.com/demoreels. Enjoy!

Blogiversary

Today, it has officially been one year of successfully utilizing the concept of a blog to convey news articles on this site. It seems like time to celebrate! What could be worthy of displaying? Hrm... How 'bout a YouTube clip from one of the best shows ever on television?

Oh yeah, and of course:

BTW, Blogiversary and Blagojevich are not the same thing, in case you baffled folks were wondering! NOT related topics! :-)

Overdue

This post regards three things that are overdue, in one way or another:
  1. Starting today, GPicturama is receiving a facelift. Unbeknownst to me until hours ago, links within the yearly archives had still not been updated since the 2nd site's domain had changed from directorG2.com to jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public.

Thus far, I've fixed things all the way back to 2005, and I'm working to fix the rest by tomorrow. I'm also extending the addition of the hovering image outline to pages I update. Check it out!

  2. I read a blog article today from The Film Experience that arranged a new Top Ten list of actors yet-to-receive-an-Oscar, rearranged now that Kate Winslet has [finally] earned one. You'll never guess who their #1 choice is! Read that article here.

  3. Speaking of overdue Oscar selections, I've been keeping such a list all along, but I don't arrange it like The Film Experience does. Instead, I call it a "Snubbed List," and continually add films by year that should have won for Best Whatevertheawardis, plus other actors that just deserve it. To see it, go here and click "Snubbed List" at the bottom.
