Tour of the Mothers

Two things to make mention of! First, I decided to upload to YouTube another Gizdich project. From 2007, my second video for Gizdich Ranch, called Tour of the Juicery, had yet to see the light of the internet. A few stills were online, but not the actual movie... UNTIL NOW. Enjoy!

Second, not much time is left before Everyone and Their Mother must be completed for it to be "uploaded in time" (a.k.a. before Mother's Day) to Current TV. It's quite far along, actually -- each interview has been transcribed, edited down to a reasonable duration, and mixed up a bit so that they're interspliced. I still need to create the opening titles and compose the score... Wonder what I'll do this weekend!

K-Dawg

Another small-yet-large thing to point out here... In terms of YouTube, I noticed that Part 1 of The Dog of Pompeii has surpassed 5,000 views (5K), specifically at 5,029 this very moment!

Mo'Names

Now, more names exist in the Names Database section of the site. They are from Everyone and Their Mother, currently in post production. Further, more names from Journey of the Mind now have their associated IMDb link.

See it at the home page and throughout the movie pages!

Great Concert

Time out! This indie electronic pop band is purely awesome. Saw 'em in their first US concert up in the city earlier this week. They've affected me so much, they're getting this mini ad (unrelated to ANYTHING) in a news blog entry.

Wapoosh!

For the past few months, I have been at a loss with Blogger, since it corrupted the FTP method with which I used to use to update the news that you are reading today. Because of this corruption, I had to relinquish my blog's ability to lack a blue bar (a "dashboard" as they call it), since the blog is now located at one of their sites (directorg2010.blogspot.com).

Well, I figured I'd had enough, and wanted to get back some of what was rightly mine for the past two years. I was mad as hell, and couldn't take it anymore! After playing around with iFrames and layers, I was at least able to get the original look back on my homepage, which lacked the dashboard. I'll continue with regaining blog site ownership in due time, but this is the first step. Take that, blogger!

Monterey Bay Film Fest

Yesterday was the 1st ever Monterey Bay Film Fest, and I got to attend with old roommate Alex Bonilla as VIPs. Our trip was very last-minute, but because we are CSUMB alumni and the festival was held on campus, Festival Director Chris Carpenter instantly put our names on the VIP list.

Anyhow, the festival had two portions: the first was for young filmmakers, and the second was organized of innovative shorts by adults. While I may have preferred the latter portion, it was great to see young filmmakers in action.

It reminded me very much of participating in the National Children's Film Festival in the early days of Thomas Productions, for Medieval Air, The Dog of Pompeii and The Last Kiss in particular, although this festival was purely the screening, without awards given to filmmakers at the end.

Particularly enticing shorts from either portion included The Adventures of Ledo and Ix, I Am So Proud of You, Good Karma, Sparks in the Night, Unlocked, Drunk History Vol. 3, Jesuno, and Sniffer. They also showed Charlie and the Rabbit, which made it into Sundance by CSUMB graduates. Great time all around!
