??

Bigtime technical diffs here! Not just for Thomas Productions, either. Many users of the uuuq.com webhost (through zymic) seem to have their sites down. Don't know what the cause is yet, but I'm trying to find a temporary solution in the meantime.

Hang tight!

See the Candidates

Yesterday, for Pen TV, I was Executive Producer of two episodes The Game, a program that can be very political if it wants to be. Hosted by Mark Simon, Executive Officer for Public Affairs at SamTrans, these episodes happened to be local candidates forums for San Mateo County, specifically for County Supervisor or Treasurer, respectively.

Supervisor Candidates are Matt Grocott, Jack Hickey, Don Horsley, Michael Stogner and April Vargas. Treasurer Candidates are Sandie Arnott, Joe Galligan, Richard Guilbault and Dave Mandelkern. View each episode right here online, or starting at 8:00 pm on Cable Channel 26 in San Mateo County until Election Day!

GSlims

Last month, I attended an awesome concert in SF by The Whitest Boy Alive. Prior to this blog post, the indie Euro rock pop band had no true tie to this website... until now. Pics from event, which I attended with my college buddy Alex, are now posted at GPicturama!

Honorable Mention

How wonderful this is! A teacher named Mrs. Amos gave me quite the compliment on facebook:

"We just read 'The Dog of Pompeii' and I remembered one of my students many years ago bringing a video his brother made with some CMS kids... I was thinking to myself today, "wish I could show the kids that video version of the story." So I randomly searched Youtube and ...there it was! Funny, I never knew you were the producer. What an amazing, incredibly sophisticated little film, especially considering the technology in 1999. I remember Kim, Andrew and Pascha Marlin. Thanks Garrett for the gift. It was a perfect addition to my sixth grade curriculum."

Enjoy both parts below:

The Poetess

Back during my time as a college student, when I made my capstone film (The Nightmare), I lucked out by getting to work with my producer. Veronica Calvillo is simply awesome! Nowadays, she wanted some help from me to put another of her films online, and I was more than happy to return the favor. I give you Awakening: The Poetess, a Veronica Calvillo film.

I do believe that it is now possible to tweak The Nightmare this year and enter it into some fests! Just you wait.

The Last Decade

While only a freshman in high school, already a decade ago, I was somehow already able to churn out The Last Kiss (2000), my second National Finalist in the National Children's Film Festival. Black-and-white, dialogueless, rights-earned-soundtrack... Many firsts.

Now, currently with 1,131 views on YouTube, its online viewership continues to excel. Enjoy!

It's Up!

And so it's up! The finished, edited version of Everyone and Their Mother is now showing at Current TV:

The interviews of Alisa Lai, Shannel Reed and Sarah Smallman were whittled down from about 45 minutes in totality to about 6 minutes, with roughly 2 minutes per person prior to being intertwined.

A big help came from Don Jayakody, who helped with transportation to and from SF. A few others earned credits, too, but Don gets named in this blog. He's shown in the pic above, alongside me, Stephen and Alisa (L-R), taken at our lunch the day we taped in the city. Thanks to everyone!
